This post was written at the end of the fourth week
This post and the previous ones are really really plain, simple, bland, without any pictures. Blame the siput sedut wireless connection.
So, 4th week now. Let's recap.
So what did I actually do there? Studying? Err, right. Whatever. Dr. Maryanto's lab report, UNGS term paper, studying for the upcoming Physiology and Anatomy quiz next week!
Memorizing verse 22-28 of Surah al-Israk. Memorizing 2 hadiths (Hadith no 1 and 12).
Ifthar (breaking fast) with 2nd year Pharmacy seniors at Musolla Talhah 3. They cooked Koay Teow Goreng Kantonis. Yup, they cooked! They brought rice cooker and all those ingredients. Awesomeness.
Walking to and fro from Kulliyyah of Pharmacy to Mahallah Maimunah as the bus (RJ Liner) is nowhere to be seen. -_____-. Walking under the hot scorching sun is not pleasant of course, but somehow, we can endure it.
At 8 p.m on Wednesday, walked to Kulliyyah of Pharmacy to watch the Demonstrasi Debat Bahasa Melayu. All UIA Kuantan students who are taking Bahasa Melayu this semester are compulsory to attend the debat. The topic 'Pelajar UIA: Indah Khabar dari Rupa'. LOL.
Finished reading 'The Rice Mother' by Rani Manicka. The novel won 2003 Commonwealth Prize Award. The story about a 14 years old Ceylonese girl shipped from India to Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. Yeah, Kuantan! Haha. She married a 37 year old man, live in Malaysia, gave birth to 6 children every year. Endured the horrific events of Japanese Occupation, which claimed the life of her precious daughter, bla-bla.
The story is so beautifully written and it gives a tremendous depressing impact on me.I got depressed after reading the first chapter. See?? Everyone should read this book. Maybe I will buy a copy. Ermm. JPA? Bila nak datang?
Gonna borrow more books (fictions) from the library next week. Some Roald Dahl's books that I haven't read, some good old classics- Good Wives, Anna Karenina, etc.
Fictions made up my life. Life here is quite dull, with all those studying that need to be done, with all those assignments that need to be finished, with all those complicated formats of lab reports that need to be completed, with all those continuous, rigid, process of waking up, go to KOP, go back to Mahallah, study, sleep. Wake up, go KOP, Mahallah, study, sleep. The same events over and over again. DULL, RIGHT???
The good way to treat this spirit of mine that needs adventures, entertainments and all is to read books. FICTIONS! By reading books, you can imagine, you can be at other places, your mind will be absorbed with the whole story, as if you are really there, witnessing everything. And you could choose whether to speed read or to slowly enjoy and devour the entire story, compared to watching series and movies, where you have to wait, wait and wait. Like, when will this guy finished his dialogue? When will the murderer be found or what? Somehow, it's kind of wasting your time. Watching movies when you're supposed to be studying is one of the many forms of guilty pleasures. But you'll feel guilty, lah. And you can bring your book anywhere. You can read it anywhere, at all times.
Another thing. I will only give some clues. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Aamir Khan, 3 Idiots, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan, Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge, Karan Johar, Vinod Chopra, Dharma Pictures, Lata Mangeshkar, Jatin Lalit, Dil to Pagal Hai, Main Hoon Na, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Go figure.
I'm too lazy to construct sentences. Guess, guess. 6/8/2010. Solehah. T2 4.5, Secret Recipe cake, candles, snacks and tidbits, Sarah, Syidah, Afzan, Wani,Timah, Tiqah, Farah Ruwaida, Majdiah, Zafirah, 'Aina, Julia, Ain and others. An event.
That's all from me. Chalo beta!
