4th Week- A Summary

Okay, sekarang ni dah nak masuk 7th week dah. Baru nak post 4th week punya summary.Tapi tulis lama dah sebenarnya. Blame the internet. *rolled eyes*

This post was written at the end of the fourth week

This post and the previous ones are really really plain, simple, bland, without any pictures. Blame the siput sedut wireless connection.

So, 4th week now. Let's recap.

So what did I actually do there? Studying? Err, right. Whatever. Dr. Maryanto's lab report, UNGS term paper, studying for the upcoming Physiology and Anatomy quiz next week!

Memorizing verse 22-28 of Surah al-Israk. Memorizing 2 hadiths (Hadith no 1 and 12).
Ifthar (breaking fast) with 2nd year Pharmacy seniors at Musolla Talhah 3. They cooked Koay Teow Goreng Kantonis. Yup, they cooked! They brought rice cooker and all those ingredients. Awesomeness.

Walking to and fro from Kulliyyah of Pharmacy to Mahallah Maimunah as the bus (RJ Liner) is nowhere to be seen. -_____-. Walking under the hot scorching sun is not pleasant of course, but somehow, we can endure it.

At 8 p.m on Wednesday, walked to Kulliyyah of Pharmacy to watch the Demonstrasi Debat Bahasa Melayu. All UIA Kuantan students who are taking Bahasa Melayu this semester are compulsory to attend the debat. The topic 'Pelajar UIA: Indah Khabar dari Rupa'. LOL.

Finished reading 'The Rice Mother' by Rani Manicka. The novel won 2003 Commonwealth Prize Award. The story about a 14 years old Ceylonese girl shipped from India to Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. Yeah, Kuantan! Haha. She married a 37 year old man, live in Malaysia, gave birth to 6 children every year. Endured the horrific events of Japanese Occupation, which claimed the life of her precious daughter, bla-bla.
The story is so beautifully written and it gives a tremendous depressing impact on me.I got depressed after reading the first chapter. See?? Everyone should read this book. Maybe I will buy a copy. Ermm. JPA? Bila nak datang?

Gonna borrow more books (fictions) from the library next week. Some Roald Dahl's books that I haven't read, some good old classics- Good Wives, Anna Karenina, etc.

Fictions made up my life. Life here is quite dull, with all those studying that need to be done, with all those assignments that need to be finished, with all those complicated formats of lab reports that need to be completed, with all those continuous, rigid, process of waking up, go to KOP, go back to Mahallah, study, sleep. Wake up, go KOP, Mahallah, study, sleep. The same events over and over again. DULL, RIGHT???

The good way to treat this spirit of mine that needs adventures, entertainments and all is to read books. FICTIONS! By reading books, you can imagine, you can be at other places, your mind will be absorbed with the whole story, as if you are really there, witnessing everything. And you could choose whether to speed read or to slowly enjoy and devour the entire story, compared to watching series and movies, where you have to wait, wait and wait. Like, when will this guy finished his dialogue? When will the murderer be found or what? Somehow, it's kind of wasting your time. Watching movies when you're supposed to be studying is one of the many forms of guilty pleasures. But you'll feel guilty, lah. And you can bring your book anywhere. You can read it anywhere, at all times.

Another thing. I will only give some clues. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Aamir Khan, 3 Idiots, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan, Dilwale Dulhania le Jayenge, Karan Johar, Vinod Chopra, Dharma Pictures, Lata Mangeshkar, Jatin Lalit, Dil to Pagal Hai, Main Hoon Na, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Go figure.

I'm too lazy to construct sentences. Guess, guess. 6/8/2010. Solehah. T2 4.5, Secret Recipe cake, candles, snacks and tidbits, Sarah, Syidah, Afzan, Wani,Timah, Tiqah, Farah Ruwaida, Majdiah, Zafirah, 'Aina, Julia, Ain and others. An event.

That's all from me. Chalo beta!

3rd Week - A Summary

Actually, this was written last week. But I couldn't post this due to the super duper sloowwwwwwww wireless connection of IIUM Kuantan. Oh well.

3rd Week Summary

Baru tadi tengah best meluahkan perasaan dalam Bahasa Melayu pasal PakCik Teksi kat Berjaya Megamall Kuantan tapi oh man, internet DISCONNECTED* Takpe-takpe, relax. Tu post mengutuk orang sebenarnya. tapi Allah tak nak bagi saya dapat dosa jadi dia tak bagi saya publish post tu kat public. :)

Anyway, I digress.
Last week, I had to undergo the audition for the emcee/ quiz moderator for the 2nd IIUM National Pharmacy Quiz that will be held after raya.
Besides me, there're many of my other classmates who tried their luck in the audition. Amiirah, Naza, Kak Nisah (she wanted to audition for Arabic Language, actually), Fatin Kamaruzaman and Adibah Mazlan, and three brothers from our class. Total, 9 first year students. Bersemangat, kan?
There were two or three seniors (2nd year students) who went to the audition as well.

Amiirah Rosli. The only English-exempted girl in the Pharmacy Rx9. Band 6 in MUET. Extensive (exaggerating, am I? XD) experiences in emcee-ing. Haha. The moment she opened her mouth, wow, we were awe-strucked. The seniors as well. Ah well, biasalah. Amiirah. :P
Then it was my turn. I began with salam and stated my name. First year. Then I read the text.
'Annoucing, the arrivals of  blablabla'.

The others are really good. So I don't really put high hopes, LOL.

Long story cut short (apa punya English daa) at 12 something a.m this morning (morning, not noon!) I received a message from Kak Hajar

'Salam. Congratulations! You have been selected as emcee/quiz moderator for 2nd IIUM National Pharmacy Quiz. You will be informed later about the training. Thank you :) '

Okay, so I got the job. Either the emcee or the quiz moderator. I don't know. Haha. Never mind. Alhamdulillah.

I wrote my name for the Kelab Debat Bahasa Melayu Kuantan. No English Debate team in Kuantan, so sad, huh? Then the Vice President sent me a message.

'Salam. Anda dijemput ke mass gathering kelab debat bahasa melayu Kuantan pada 2/8 (Isnin) di Musolla KOP. Maklumat lanjut leh rujuk gb group kdbmk. Jumpa di sana. Tq. Wslm.'

Initially, I intended to go to the so called mass gathering. But then I looked at the FB group and the blog of Kelab Debat Bahasa Melayu Kuantan. It seems like, if you decided to really join the club, as the debater, participating in various debate competition that will be held out of campus, you will miss lots of classes. So, no thanks. The lectures and studies are more important. Haha. XD

And I have been chosen/ voted to be the Setiausaha (Secretary) for the Assistant Batch Leader. Not a glamorous post. Tak buat kerja sangat pun.Cuma collect students' biodata. Naza berapa kali suruh update students' biodata tapi tak buat-buat pun. Pemalas punya setiausaha. :P

Studies and lectures went well, I guess. But I don't dare to say much about this. Let's just see how well will I fare in the quizzes. O___o.

What else? Balik raya! Yeah! Balik kampung. Aidil fitri this year will not be the same as the previous Hari Raya. I'm sure you know the reason why. :(

Anyway, UIA Kuantan will provide bus for 'orang-orang utagha' pi balik Ipoh, Butterworth, Sungai Petani, Aloq Staq, Kuala Perlis. Good! No need to go buy ticket from outside bus (err, whatever). So, I will go home to Sungai Petani tercinta (insya-Allah) together with Hanis. :DD. Can't wait!  Alhamdulillah, Allah permudahkan urusan nak beli tiket balik Kedah.

But oh, kesian budak-budak Dentistry. Hazie told me that they will still have a class on the 9th of September. Note: 10th September is the first day of Aidil Fitri. Kesian, kan? Dahlah kulliyyah jauh daripada Mahallah, ikut block system, banyak aktiviti sampai tak sempat nak stadi (dia yang kata), cuti pun tak banyak. Lepas tu bila habis first year, kena halau pergi keluar duduk IM2 (off campus) sekali dengan budak-budak Medic sebab brothers dari IM2 masuk dalam Talhah. Kasihan. Okay, kakak senior yang beritahu. Rumours aje kot.
Alhamdulillah. Tiba-tiba bersyukur dapat course Pharmacy walaupun takla 'se-glamour'course Medic atau Dentistry. Takpe, asalkan happy (err, setakat ni masih happy lagi la kot).

Oh yeah, JPA! Bila nak masuk ni? Kena tahan air liur daripada meleleh bila nampak paperback Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. And other books. Anna Karenina's complete and unabridged version in leatherbound (so- called) cover for the price of less than RM30??? Cheesecake! I have to remind myself that there are other important things to buy rather than fictions. I haven't even finished reading Terry Pratchett's A Hat Full of Sky' that I borrowed almost two weeks ago!

A series of lab reports, UNGS term paper and BM presentation need to be submitted and presented. Oh well, the life of a student, right?

Preparations for Ramadhan? Aha, I have been ganti-ing my puasa since last week. Padan muka ganti lambat-lambat siapa suruh? Minggu ni habis ganti, insya-Allah. So, unlike the brothers, we the sisters won't face that much problems in suppressing our desire to eat (memang haram makan pada siang hari di Bulan Ramadhan), overcoming intense hunger and insya-Allah we won't feel that tired as compared to them. Dah banyak practise ganti puasa, what?? Okay, jangan riak. Insya-Allah Allah permudahkan perjalanan hidup di Bulan Ramadhan ni.

And alhamdulillah. Dan habis 4 juzuk al-Quran sejak masuk UIA ni. Bacaan pun dah lebih lancar daripada sebelum ni. Best pulak baca al-Quran ni. Alhamdulillah. Berusaha baca sekurang-kurangnya 2 muka surat setiap hari (waktu habis solat fardhu). Okay, teruskan usaha. Fighting!

Bertuah masuk UIA ni sebenarnya.
Kelas Tilawah- Baca Surah Ali-Imran dengan hafal surah dari An-Nas sampai Adh-Dhuha.
Study Circle- Hafal Hadith, Ibadah Camp, Hafal Surah al-Israk dengan al-Hasyr (beberapa potongan ayat).

Call mak almost tiap-tiap hari. Mak selalu pesan solat hajat setiap habis Isyak. Tengah nak menjadikannya satu tabiat yang bagus. Insya-Allah.

OKAA-SAN! I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! :(((

I shall stop now. Another 2 minutes to 12 a.m. I'm not feeling sleepy yet so I shall study. LOL.

Toodles!
