Testing My Memories

Remember those old days in the 90's, where there weren't that many book publishing company in Malaysia, the ones that mostly existed published translated books.

For example, Enid Blyton's books in Malay
1. Malory Towers -->Seri Melur
2. St. Clare's -->Tengku Ashikin
3. Famous Five --> Lima Sekawan
4. Secret Seven -->Tujuh Penyiasat
5. Five Find Outers --> Lima Penyiasat

Not forgetting,
1. Nancy Drew --> Siri Salma
2. Hardy Boys --> Siri Hadi

And lots more. Now, it's really really very hard to find these books in bookstores because they are really really rare.

Know what, I miss them! I really do! I spent my childhood reading these books. I spent my duit raya buying a whole set of 'Lima Penyiasat' or something. I reread them over and over again.
I usually borrowed Siri Salma from the public library. I reckon I've read almost all books in the Siri Salma.

I was delighted to find those original English series of Siri Salma, Seri Melur and so on because truthfully, I read the Malay versions first. Malay versions are much cheaper, you know.

But there is one particular series that I really really adore. It's called Siri Kumpulan Penjejak. A total of 10 books in the series. I love this particular series because the adventures are... how do you call it? Okayla, lain daripada yang lain!

1. Berjaya Lagi. I forgot what happened. Teehee. But it's the first book that tells about their first adventure.
2. Desa Yang Mengajar. They went to their cousin's house. A farm, something like that.
3. Misteri Alur Guntur. They went to another cousin's house.
4. Misteri Bakawali. Went to a friend's house. Found a secret room.
5. Misteri Ekspedisi. Went on an expedition on bicycles, together with their friends, cousins and family members. AWESOME!
6. Misteri Hantu Pulau. Went to Tanjong Pagar with friends to stay at the family doctor's huge house. Adventures! Went to he Pulau Hantu. Or Pulau yang berhantu, something like that.
7. Misteri Sungai Senang. Stayed at their grandaunt's huge house in Muar. SO COOL!
8. Perkelahan Aneh. Went to cousin's house. Participated in the festival there.
9. Rahsia Gajah Diraja. An elephant kena kidnap something like that.
19. Rahsia Rumah Rakit. Embarked on an adventure naik rumah rakit with their family and cousins.

Of course, they are amateur sleuths, always bound to solve whatever kind of mysteries in every place they've been to.

I bet this Kumpulan Penjejak is the Malay version of whatever English series.

The reason I really like this series is because it shows 4 siblings and their close knitted relationships with their parents, cousins, relatives and friends. And the fact that they are always together in every adventure!

It's impossible to find a rare not so popular Malay book now. So sad, you know!

I miss another series. Sarah Latif Mystery Series by Matilda Xavier. No image is available from the internet. Hmmphh!

Thank you, dear books for helping me to imagine and getting A for my Penulisan Bahasa Melayu subjek for almost every exams and yeah, UPSR.

I stopped reading these books when I entered secondary school, I guess.

I just want to say that I mostly read MALAY books in my early years. English books are mostly those of Enid Blyton's and Maltilda Xavier. And yeah, Sweet Valley. Those books created a very happy and pleasant childhood years for me. Imaginative, even. And I'm very proud to say that I am much much better in Bahasa Melayu than English. Of course, I'm a MALAY! I can become more poetic and strings sentences that rhymes together in Malay, rather than English. English is quite complicated as I forever have to take note of the correct usage of grammars and sentence structure.

Almost kidnapped

My mom told me that when I was 3 (1993), I was almost kidnapped by a man. Well, a strange man. A stranger.

My parents brought me to the pasar malam and suddenly while in the midst of buying stuffs or something ( I dunno), my mom realized that I wasn't with her. They looked frantically all over the pasar malam for me. My mom was extremely worried.

Luckily, my dad spotted me walking with a man.  He was holding my hand and seemed oblivious to the surrounding. He wasn't even looking anywhere else. Only straight ahead. You know, to at least try to locate the little girl's parents.

I wonder what might have happened to me if my father didn't find me. *shudder*

Here are the probabilities:

1.  He (stranger) might sell me to some sort of gangster group where I'll be forced to beg for money and food on the streets. They might even chop off my limbs to show that I'm not an able person, to gain sympathy from people.

2. Get sold to another gangster group where they would kill me and took out my body organs to be sold in black market.

3. They might torture me like they did with Nurin Jazlin and other missing kids. *shudder again*. Stupid pedophiles!

4. Sell me to those filthy rich people who do not have any child and I'll be pampered with lots of toys. :P

5. Maybe when I reached my teenage years, they might sell me to Bapak Ayam whomsoever and work as a prostitute. NOO!!!! I pity those prostitutes. You think they would want to become one? They are forced to, okay!

6. Got adopted by the head gangster and being raised as his own child. This might be due to the fact that his wife had taken a great liking towards me because I was so cute *cough cough* and that his wife once suffered from ovarian cancer and could not conceive any child. The head gangster, though tough and mean, loves his wife so much that he relented on the idea that I'll be his adopted daughter. His future plans include having me to inherit his position as head gangster. MUAHAHAHAHA

I'm so glad my father found me. I'm so grateful that Allah helps me. Alhamdulillah.

P.S Sila tengok Kasih Alia,  Isnin hingga Khamis 7 malam hanya di TV3. LOL. Cerita dia lebih kurang sama. Hilang kat pasar malam, kena culik, kena mintak sedekah, kena ambik organ badan, etc. Okay tapi sekarang diorang dah besar. =___=

EBOOKS

Being a self proclaimed bookaholic, I have downloaded so many e-books from 4shared. :P

The only device available for me to read the e books is my faithful laptop. The thing is, reading stuffs on my laptop had proved to be a bit uncomfortable, as I have to squint my eyes once in a while, sometimes putting my hands above my eyes, as if to shield the bright sunlight that shines from above. In this case, the bright backlight of my laptop screen.

I wanted to buy an ebook reader but it is quite expensive!  No way. And it's not a necessity anyway, LOL.

So, I racked my brain for a solution. How could I read e-books on my laptop without being constantly blinded by the oh-so-bright light?

And, tada!

Ceh, it's very simple, really!

                                                               (image googled)

So I took the sunglasses and wore it over my half-blind eyes (I'm wearing glasses, so I placed the sunglasses OVER my glasses. Picture it! The weirdness!)

Yeah! I could read the e-books more comfortably now! xD

Almost lost a brother

I almost lost my brother, Syafiq when I was 6 and he, 4.

We were at home and Syafiq suddenly contracted high fever. A really really high fever. He could not breathe properly and his body is all blue-ish because the oxygen could not reach to his body parts (because he could not breathe properly la!)

My father quickly brought him to the hospital next door (luckily our house was located beside the hospital) and he stopped breathing. My father got really sad. I bet he cried at that time.

This is what he said "Ingatkan Syafiq dah takde dah waktu tu,"

And suddenly, miracles happened! Syafiq breathed again!

He got admitted to the hospital and stayed there for quite a long time. I still remember him in his hospital clothes which looked like a pyjamas, with some sort of tube inserted to his hand.

He was only four!

I remember being all sad having to leave him at the hospital. My parents took turn taking care of him every night. I had my Opah at home to take care of me and my siblings.

In a way, the miracle that Allah had shown us, make us believe that He is giving Syafiq another chance. Maybe he would change the world someday. Who knows? There's a reason on why that miracle happened.

He grew up, becoming quite lembik throughout his childhood, maybe it's the post effect of the high fever. He got bullied at school because he was small. He got bullied by me at home because I'm his big bossy sister. He cried a lot. I always spanked him. We quarreled a lot.

Then when he was 13, his life started to get better. He no longer got bullied by me (because I got transformed into a kind, nice sister :P), he stood up for himself, fought when somebody tried to bully him at school. He gained many friends, he had his own circle of admirers from the girls, he was one of the popular boys at school, he got good grades and now is in his first year at IIUM pursuing Bachelor of Architecture.

Syafiq is one lucky boy. He's the closest one to me out of my other 3 younger siblings. To think that I almost lost a brother. I'm glad that he is still here.

He's turning 19 today. Happy birthday, dear brother!

When you have gigi besi...

" Hewhoo, I'm sheeking sponshorship from your company for the upcoming nashional pharmashy quish that will be held at my univershity. May I know whom should I be djealing with?"

You can't speak properly for the short time being.

P.S UniverSHITy? LOL.

Not-So-Wordless Thursday

My brother, Haziq in front of my dad's childhood home in Bukit Gantang, Perak,  built in the 1940's.
As you can see, it is now old and dilapidated.

"Couple seats ke seat biasa?"

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

I've watched HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2!!! (baca sekali nafas)

Eeeww Voldemort and Nagini. >.<

It was okay. I tried to cry but I couldn't because you see...I NEEDED TO GO TO THE TOILET!
I couldn't hold my bladder anymore thus I went out and missed the part where Voldemort killed Harry and Harry met Dumbledore and there was that bloody foetus of Voldemort.

Upon returning from the toilet, then only could I concentrate on the remaining scenes of the movie.
The scene where Snape got killed by Nagini was quite quite gruesome.

And then...NINETEEN YEARS LATER

The scene of King's Cross Station. Then the melancholy music they played on the first movie was played in this scene!
Then I saw Harry and his kids. AND I CRIEDD!!!

Because you know, you got immediately flashed back to the first movie, where Harry was all alone going to Hogwarts. Harry's kids are so lucky to have their parents alive.
But I laughed a bit when I saw 36 years old Malfoy. He looks ridiculous!

Okay, the end. Harry Potter is over.

One funny thing that happened when we first bought the tickets.

I went to the counter and the woman saw my brother, Syafiq.
I asked her "Harry Potter 1.00 p.m?"
She asked back "Nak couple seats ke seat biasa?"

"APA?"

She repeated her question.

And I laughed to the extent of maybe accidentally revealing the empty sockets of my first premolars. HAHA

"Bukan! Dia adik saya lah! Seat biasa,"

Maybe she didn't mean it that way. Maybe she thought I'd want to have the couple seats, seeing that there were only two of us there.

Adoiii. No. This is not the first time people had mistaken my younger brother as my boyfriend.

A bloody(literally) experience!

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

I can't write much as I don't really have the mood.

1. I have just undergone a minor (and unexpected) surgery!

2. It's nothing big. considering that the dentist had to slice your gum to pull out the root of your tooth. Oh, not just one place. TWO PLACES! Right and left. Then the dentist had to stitch your gums back together. Eekkk

3. I'm bleeding profusely which is bothersome.

4. I keep on drooling as I can't control the secretion of my saliva which is really TROUBLESOME!

5. My mouth and some parts of my cheeks are still numb and I feel like an idiot(see number 4) and when I touched my lips, it feels rubbery which is way WEIRD!

6. The pain started to kick in for about 15 minutes after the surgery was over.

7. I received like, SEVEN anaesthetic injections throughout the whole procedure.

8. My two upper first premolars are gone. Goodbye, perfect set of teeth! *sob*

9. I'm thirsty! But I don't want to swallow the blood when I'm drinking the water! Arghh!

10. This is my first ever surgery (that requires slicing and stitching) and I feel cool about it. LOL.

The Periodic Table of Storytelling

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

Sorry can't make it any bigger. Well, you can just click on it.
This is an awesome invention invented by those inventors (LOL).

There are several examples shown below the periodic table. Star Wars, Kim Possible, Dilbert, etc.

How to use it:

Pick several elements from the Periodic table and string them together!

This is how I interpret Kim Possible.

The basic plot of Kim Possible using the Periodic Table

Ag is bonded to Kz
Ag stands for Action Girl which is Kim. and Kz stands for Klutz which is Ron.
They are doubly bonded. Chemically speaking (LOL), double bond is stronger than single bond because double bond consists of pi bond and sigma bond. Sigma bond is stronger  than Pi bond(Kim) and Pi  bond is weaker than Sigma bond (Ron) but Sigma adds strength to Pi bond (it means sometimes Kim really needs Ron by her side. Well, you know la).

Ag and Kz are bonded together to Fg, which stands for 'Fighting Crime'.

In conclusion: Action Girl (Kim Possible) and The Klutz (Ron Stoppable) fight crime together. I wonder where's Rufus the Naked Mole Rat? >___>

This periodic table is not comprehensive but in a way, it gives you idea on how to start a story. And don't bother about all those chemical structures and bonds.  Make your OWN chemical structures.

The End. May you have a pleasant day. :)

Cheapo

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

The recent trip (well, about 2 weeks ago) to Chowrasta and look what I've bought. (Chowrasta is awesome as usual).

ELEVEN Sweet Valley Books for a total price of RM28!

Yes, only RM28!
I usually buy a brand new novel from MPH Bookstores for the price of RM33++

But this, ELEVEN books? But still, the total price is considered expensive as those are 2nd hand books and some of them are not in mint conditions (whaddaya expect? LOL) Next time gonna bargain more! Say, RM20! The skill of bargaining is highly essential, even in buying books! Muahahaha.

At first the bookseller put a price of RM25 for 8 books (mahal giler kan?)
Then I flirted with him a bit and got them for RM20 (still expensive, right??)

Next time must flirt more! LOL. And I've made my own 'negotiating-for-the-least-possible-price-of-books' points. Things that should be considered
-Condition of books
-Year of publication
-and others (think up the points yourself! :P)

Then off you go to present your points on why you should get 10 books for RM 10 instead of RM20 (never tried that, but going to ) to the bookseller. You should present your points in a persuasive yet non aggressive manner. It's a bonus if you know how to act. And if you're a naturally annoying and irritating person, you could always try to annoy the bookseller to the core by continuously pestering him until he finally relents on selling the books for your named price.

I finished reading all eleven books in 10 days. Well, not exactly a book a day. It depends on my mood. I once read 3 Sweet Valley books in just one day. I was bored.

For now, the total number of books (most of them fictions) that I've read from April 2011 till now (as of yesterday) is 24, if I'm not mistaken (the number includes the 11 Sweet Valley books).

Now I'm halfway reading Betsy Carter's 'Orange Blossom Special'. Gonna finish it today. I intend to finish another 4 books before August, which is before Ramadhan so that I could make a new list of books to be read during Ramadhan.

Why fictions? You see, sometimes you could learn a greater deal about life by reading fictions (because they tell you stories that relate to you) as compared to reading non-fictions. But then again, I have my dose of non-fictions too. I don't always read fictions. And no, I do not read stupid political blogs.

And yes, why Sweet Valley? I first read Sweet Valley when I was 10 and it is quite delightful to reread stuffs that you read when you were young. ( I still read Doraemon comics xD) Besides, Sweet Valley books are no longer published and are now unavailable in major bookstores like MPH. So, they are rare and precious in a way.

Have a pleasant day, everyone!

Turn Left, Turn Right

I first watched this in 2006. I was sixteen. It was aired on TV3 for the Valentine’s Day Special Slot.

I got hooked to the story, my eyes glued to the TV screen.

I watched it again.

And watched it again.

My brother downloaded the movie and I watched it again. And again and again.

I’ve watched this movie for a total of FIVE to SIX times. I’ve lost count so I could not remember the exact number.

Though Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung only spent about less than 10 minutes in this movie, I could perceive their feelings (‘their’ as in the main characters, not the actors) for each other, the agony, and the emotional pain when they are separated from each other.

I have always been a romantic person in the inside. I believe in fairy tales and cheesy love stories, no matter how people said they do not exist. It is ridiculous, I know. :P

Well, we women are like that. HAHA

To end this note, you girls (and guys) should watch this!

Ok bye and assalamualaikum. J

P.S: I've learned how to write shorter blog posts. xD

Queen Sized

Have you ever woken up in the morning,
Looked at yourself in the mirror and found yourself saying

'I'm FAT!!!!!'

Yeah, seriously.

Also, the time when you're wearing your tudung, and you're trying your best to pull the sides of the tudung to the front in a hopeless attempt to conceal the puffiness and the chubbiness of your cheeks and urmm...the chin that seems to urmm...double in size? And ended up muttering

'I'm FAT!!!!'
What's more, when you weighed yourself on the weighing balance and found that your weight has increased DRAMATICALLY for the past few months! And you went on complaining

'I'm FAT!!!!'

 Drama Queen indeed. *rolled eyes*

EDIT: On 2nd thought, chubby cheeks are tolerable as they signify youthfulness.HAHAHA But double chin? So not cool. =__=

Life in IIUM so far...

The list of subjects to be taken for Year 2, Semester 1.

core:
1. PHM 2113 Pharmacology of the peripheral nervous system 3 ch
2. PHM 2122 Fundamentals of Medicinal Chemistry 2ch
3. PHM 2133 Anti-infective agents 3ch

elective:
1. PHM 2172 Nuclear pharmacy 2ch

university:
1. UNGS 2050K Ethics, fiqh for everyday life (for most of you) 3ch

Whoa, I can't believe it! In about 2 months, the whole of IIUM students would be returning to our beloved holy land of UIA. Haha.
What's more, one year has passed, so quickly and we're now going to be in our 2nd year!

2 more years of study to become a legal drug dealer! Muahaha

So far, life in IIUM Kuantan had been fulfilling, I guess.

My studies are going on OK (at least according to me, my parents and JPA, LOL) and I had fun attending the classes, doing lab practicals, sitting for quizzes and exams (NOT!)

Really, what did I actually do throughout this one year in IIUM?

My life started in the morning, where I'll get ready for class. Then class from 8 a.m till 10.00 a.m. Break for half an hour till 10.30 a.m. 10.30 a.m till 12.30 p.m Then break until 2.00 p.m, where afternoon class will usually started.

My batch, which is called Rx9 are the best. Rx stands for recipe/prescription. LOL. Consisting of 100 students, we differ in personalities and that's what make our lives interesting. :P

Our class was in the Auditorium of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy. Lecturers will stand on the stage, using the portable microphone to deliver their lectures, while some of us are actually listening intently, some of us trying our best not to sleep, haha.

We hate it whenever any lecturer extends his lecture time, stealing a few 10 minutes of our break. And during the 30 minutes break, some students from Rx9 made their own businesses of selling fried chicken nuggets and sausages, breads, sandwiches, drinks, keropok, etc.

And so, using the empty seats at the back/top area of the auditorium, also using the stairs leading to the front of the auditorium, we would be sitting on those spots, gossipping, talking, laughing, using laptops to access the sites on the internet, while happily munching our nuggets and sausages.

Our classroom is at the end of the kulliyyah, thus secluded from the lecture halls of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year which means we rarely socialize with the seniors, LOL. We are in our own world.

Sometimes on Friday afternoon, while waiting for the UNGS class to start at 2.30/3.00 p.m, the sisters would sit in the auditorium (the brothers went to the mosque to perfomr Friday prayer) and switched off the lights of the auditorium, plugging in the pendrive to the desktop and watch the movies on the big screen on the stage. We would sit comfortably on the oh-so-comfy chairs of the auditorium. Just like a real cinema, with the awesome sound system and all.

The lecturers are nice. But they could be sarcastic at times, especially when you arrived late to class and when you didn't do some background readings before the lectures. And yes, some of them like to call out names. The one responsible to hold the name list/attendance sheet a.k.a the class rep (yours truly) would reluctantly go to the front to give the lecturer the name list. Some didn't really mind if we sleep during the lectures. Some got angry if the students carried out some lectures of their owns at the back.

Sometimes I'll take the bus to Kulliyyah. Sometimes I'll just walk. All of us live it when there is no afternoon class. Which means some of us would take afternoon naps (LOL), some studious ones will take the ample time to revise and study.

We bought our food from the cafeteria at Talhah.

Eye Candy

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

There are many reasons on why I love Tumblr. Some of the reasons can't be put together in words, some of them undefined. Some can only be answered by heart, and that only I know the answer (LOL, kenapa tiba-tiba kejiwangan? )Well, let's just say Tumblr is one of my 'retreat places' on the internet. Place where I could put myself together. LOL. Some of the posts make me ponder, think and reflect. Some made me laugh. Some give me new info about stuffs I've never known before. Some made me salivating all over the laptop keyboard. :P

But in this case, Tumblr serves as an eye candy. When I said 'Eye Candy'. I literally said 'Eye'. Candy. Or in this case. Eye. Desserts. :P

Yums, by now, you should know that I love foods (read: desserts) and eating is one of my favourite past time activities. :P

The truth is, I don't have any idea on what to post in this blog. HAHAHA

A Marriage Proposal

'Sarah? There's somebody asking for your hands.....' the sentence incomplete.

I was dumbfounded. 'Meaning?' knowing far too well that I know the answer without even asking.

'He wanted to marry you,' as simple as that.

'Ohhhh... Okay,' a ruthless answer from a so-called obedient daughter.

My mum then bought me an engagement outfit. A white songket baju kurung. I then wore the outfit. I was scared. I mean, I have never met the guy I'm about to be engaged with.

I contemplated. I mean, I'm only 22! I don't want to get married at such an early age! I wanted to get my degree first. Then maybe a Masters' Degree. Besides, what's with all this 'arranged marriage'? I wanted to marry someone I know. Someone I love.

And suddenly I said to my mum 'Mak, I don't want to get married just yet. I wanted to finish my studies first. Then only I'll think of getting married,'

Surprisingly, my mum agreed. 'Yes, you're right!'

Later on, I learned that the guy I'm about to be engaged with was some kind of a distant cousin, who was apparently smitten by my smile (fetch yourself a basin, please). What's more, he's about the same age as my father and he already had a wife and kids.

Meaning, if I married him, I would become his SECOND wife!

Then my mum told him that I rejected his proposal (is this the correct term?). And off he came to my house with his maroon kancil with all kinds of stickers plastered all over his car's body. Whaddaheck!

I ran away to hide. First in my room. Then suddenly, one of his kids, a boy saw me and smiled. Saying to his sister beside 'That's the one dad's going to marry!'

What? My future stepson and stepdaughter? NOOOOO!!!!!!

I quickly ran and hid under my mother's bed. Then suddenly, the man-I'm-about-to-be-engaged-with spotted me. I quickly went out from my hiding place and okay, it's time to set all things clear.

He said 'I'm about to give up. But now you're here. Please tell me everything,'

I composed myself, speaking in a clear and sometimes croaked voice (I'm about to cry).

'I'm sorry. I regard you no more than like my own father,' he stiffened.

'It doesn't mean that I don't like you because you're old!'

'It's just that I don't love you. Even if you're a young man,'

'Besides, I wanted to finish my studies,'

'And the most important thing. I don't want to break your wife's heart. Polygamy is a very serious matter. You have to be fair,'

What's more, he's only driving a Kancil and yet he wanted to have a second wife? How could he be fair to both his wives? (reality, okay)

'Yeah, yeah' he waved his hands dismissively.

'And so, I can't marry you,' final decision is made.

He looked angry and yet he couldn't do anything. And off he signed something in a document with a green ink pen and stormed off. I was scared, yet relieved at the same time.

I mean, it's scary right, to have someone whom you don't know (worse still, someone's related to you, someone who already has a wife and kids, someone who wanted to marry you just because he's in love with your physical appearances). SCARRRYYYYY!!!!!!

And suddenly
'Kringgggg!!!!' I woke up. Cis, nasib baik mimpi je!

You can notice several things from my dream.

1. I was 22 in my dream. I haven't yet reached the age of 21. Is this the future? NOOO!!!!

2. My mum is depicted as a clueless woman. I mean, no! My mum would never let me accept a marriage proposal from a married old man, a distant cousin whatsoever. What's more, she would never ever allow me to get married when I'm still studying. 'Dream mum' is nothing like my 'Reality mum'. Dream mum is clueless. While Reality mum is realistic and awesome!

3. I could never tolerate someone who has all kinds of sporty stickers pasted all over his car and thus ruined his car's appearance.

4. White songket? A hint of blue flowers or something for my engagement outfit.

5. Green ink?

6. The distant cousin doesn't exist.

7. And yeah, 'Dream Sarah' is clueless as well. Just accepting the marriage proposal? Where are your senses, Dream Sarah???

I reckon this dream is influenced by a book I've read the night before I went to bed.

'The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan'.
A young woman declined a marriage proposal from an old man who has wife and kids. The old man holds vengeance and killed the woman's future husband and the woman's dad.

It shows that some books left deep impacts on me.

P.S One night, I dreamed a Bangladeshi man falling head over heels with me. SCARRYYYY!!!! (no I'm not being racist or anything. Any stranger regardless of nationalities who had fallen for me would have scared me!)

Pottermore Fever

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

All about pottermore.com taken from tumblr ( I LOVE TUMBLR!)

Users will go through a quick registration process and then choose their own “magical
username”.
They will then be given a personal home page called “the gateway” that will represent their own
journey through each of the seven HARRY POTTER books.
Users move through the story chapter by chapter and are presented with “Moments” which are
scenes of significance from each chapter.
In the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, there are 44 Moments, for readers to
experience.
Tarek Nseir, chief executive of the digital agency TH_NK, which helped design the site, said:
“We have tried to set the scene but allow your imagination to do the rest.”
As fans move through the site they can scroll over different aspects of each scene such as a
Privet Drive sign or a cupboard under the stairs.
They can then click on items such as Harry’s sock and uncover new writing from Rowling and
additional information about the characters.
Readers will be given a key to access Gringotts Wizarding Bank where a virtual currency will be
available to enable them to choose items from a shopping list needed to complete their journey.
They will be issued with one of 33,000 wands and can collect items such as chocolate frog
cards and spout flavoured beans to put in their trunk.

Users will answer a series of questions selected at random from a vast pool and will be sorted
into one of Hogwarts four houses based on their answers.

The chosen house will be the centre of their experience but Rowling insisted that those not
placed in Gryffindor, Harry’s house, should not be disappointed as they will be offered an extra
quarter of a chapter to meet prefects and learn about the “true nature” of their own house.

Rowling disclosed that she always considered Gryffindor and Slytherin to be the two closest
houses and said that Harry himself could have gone into either. She said she had tested the
pool of questions on her own family and each of them was sorted into the house she had
predicted.
The author said that each users profile would grow as they progress through the books and add

I'm excited!!!
I've taken several quizzes and I always get RAVENCLAW.
I hope this new real quiz would determine my REAL Hogwarts house. I have a feeling that I would
be in Hufflepuff. Nothing to be ashamed of as Cedric was in it. :P
Besides, they've never shown the common room scenes of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in the
movies.
Slytherin is kind of cool too. :D
I know that some people would deliberately cheat just to be in Gryffindor. LAME!

And I've successfully registered my email address! :D

I wonder what will the casts of Harry Potter get?(I mean, if they did get themselves involved in this) I have a feeling that Daniel Radcliffe would get Hufflepuff, Emma Watson getting into Ravenclaw and Rupert Grint err..I think it's Gryffindor.
I hope I will not be killed by any of the Death-Eaters and die halfway in the story. LOL.

And it's stated that I should come back by 31st July and find out ways to get into Pottermore earlier than everyone else. I must get in earlier! I couldn't afford to wait until October because by that time, I would be in UIA, slaving over drug names and mechanisms of actions, learning about zeta potential and equations, mugging for quizzes and exams. Plus, the internet connection there is slowww....
Ceh,as if the website is available for a limited time.

I suddenly feel the need and desire to reread the books. *grins*
And I need to create a cool wizard-like, Harry Potter-ish names. ^^
I'm such a geek, I know. :P

Zaman Darjah Dua (1998)

Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera.

Okay, sekarang ni saya nak bercerita tentang kisah zaman dua pulak. Kisah darjah dua ni tak best sikit kalau nak bandingkan dengan zaman darjah satu. Jom kita test memori waktu darjah 2 dulu. Darjah 2 pun masih belajar di SRK Convent Muar Johor.

KELAS BARU, CLASSMATES BARU

Dahlah tak kenal sangat diorang, nampak sombong pulak tu, huh! LOL.
Saya duduk di barisan sebelah kanan, 2nd last row. Saya duduk tengah-tengah. Sebelah kanan Fairuzi duduk. Sebelah kiri pulak Tan Miao Miao.
Depan pulak yang saya ingat Liana dengan Grace budak Cina pucat yang selalu pakai ribbon warna biru. Haha.
Belakang pulak ingat Mindy Ng. Mindy ke Mandy entah.Mindy ni hidung dia selalu berdarah (sebab cuaca panas).

Grace ni waktu tu saya dengan Fairuzi tak suka sikit. Sebab dia annoying. Lepas tu suka pukul-pukul orang kot. Haha. Maybe sebab dia nak tarik perhatian. Dia pun bagilah. Entah kenapa waktu tu memang bengang dengan Grace ni jadi saya conteng-conteng muka surat belakang dictionary dia. JAHAT!
Lepas tu saya padam balik.LOL.

Bila bagi balik kat Grace, dia perasan ada kesan contengan. Tapi entah, lupa dah apa berlaku.

PUAN SAERAH- GURU KELAS 2 DAHLIA

Guru kelas Puan Saerah. Rindu Puan Aida! Dia suka komplen pasal tulisan saya yang teruk mengalahkan cakar ayam. Lepas tu tiba-tiba satu hari, dia cakap kat saya

'Tengok Christine tu. Dia bukan budak Melayu tapi tulisan dia bagus,' lepas tu saya macam 'Oh, okay'. Taulah Christine tu budak pandai.

Tapi bila fikir balik, apa kaitan Melayu, Cina dengan tulisan? =___=

Puan Saerah ni okay je kot. Dia ajar  Bahasa Melayu. Waktu tu sekolah saya kan ada persembahan tiap-tiap perhimpunan (ingat lagi time saya cerita Mahsuri jual epok-epok tu?). Puan Saerah tanya 'Siapa nak baca pantun kat depan?'

Maka saya pun volunteer (seriously memang sejak kecik tak takut berhadapan dengan public, tak tau kenapa. Mungkinkah tiada perasaan malu? hahahah).
Puan Saerah pernah nampak saya cerita 'Mahsuri jual epok-epok' tu. Lepas tu dia tanya 'Jangan nangis nanti,'. Waktu tu saya macam bengang. Mana ada menangis waktu tu? Kenapa semua cikgu perlu berfikiran negatif terhadapa anak murid? Emo sudah. Haha.

Puan Saerah pun suruh saya baca pantun sekali dengan Soh Hui Yi. Budak Cina best friend Christine yang cute dan pandai. Soh Hui Yi ni dulu Ketua Darjah 2 Dahlia. Jadi waktu perhimpunan pun baca. Okay, tak menangis!

PUAN HANUM-ENGLISH TEACHER YANG DIGERUNI

Puan Hanum yang ajar English waktu darjah satu dulu ajar English jugak time darjah dua. Serious tak suka Puan Hanum ni. Dia suka sindir-sindir orang. Haha. Pernah sekali tu waktu emak datang kelas, Puan Hanum komplen kat emak pasal saya. Entah apa, dah lupa.

USTAZAH YANG SARKASTIK

Pendidikan Islam pulak ada sorang ustazah ni. Ustazah ni mula-mula cuti bersalin. Ustazah lain ganti dia. Ustazah ganti tu baik! Ustazah cuti bersalin ni bila balik mengajar, dia ni sarkastikus! Suka perli-perli orang  pakai skirt pergi sekolah (yelah, darjah 2 mestilah pakai skirt lagi. Darjah 3 baru fully pakai baju kurung. Darjah 6 baru pakai tudung pergi sekolah, LOL).

Tapi itu semua tak ada apa-apa kalau nak dibandingkan dengan jeng jeng jeng!

MISS X (bukan nama sebenar) CIKGU MATHS TERGARANG DI DUNIA!

Miss (lupa nama). Dia ni cikgu Matematik. Cikgu Cina. Tinggi. Pakai specs. rambut pendek. Ada tahi lalat kat muka. Muka dia garang segarang orangnya! Jom panggil dia Miss X.
Miss X ni dia suka budak-budak Cina especially, sebab budak-budak Cina pandai Maths. Dia ni suka sangat naik angin. Bila naik angin bukan setakat marah je, dia tunjal-tunjal kepala guna pensel, lepas tu pukul kita orang. Dah ramai orang kena.

Waktu tu saya agak slow dengan Maths, muahaha. Lepas tu Cikgu tu ajar saya tak dapat tangkap. Dia datang kat tempat saya. Dia marah-marah ajar dengan menjerit semua tu. Lepas tu dia amik pensel batang ke pensel tekan tu dia cucuk-cucuk kepala saya. Sakit la cikgu oi! Lepas tu habis kelas dia. Dah habis kelas dia saya menangis. Kawan-kawan semua pujuk. So sweet. :P

Ada lagi satu budak ni, nama dia Hidayah. Dia pun kena marah dengan Miss X. Lepas tu dia menangis. Saya pun pergilah nak pujuk balik lepas tu dia cakap 'Awak pun waktu tu kena marah nangis jugak,' lepas tu saya terus diam tak jadi nak pujuk =___=.

Time kelas Miss X ni memang berdebar menggeletar satu badan. Sampai sekarang, Miss X tu lah mendapat tempat pertama dalam senarai 'Guru-guru garang'. Macam-macam excuse nak skip kelas dia.

Waktu tu bulan puasa. Saya darjah 2 tapi kadang-kadang puasa, kadang-kadang tak. Darjah 3 baru puasa penuh. Memalukan, haha! Tapi cikgu selalunya tanya 'Nak minyak angin tak?' Cis! Hahaha
Lepas tu cikgu tanya 'Puasa tak?' saya pun jawab 'Ya cikgu'. Cikgu cakap 'Kesiannya sakit perut!'

Walaupun dah banyak kali buat alasan tak pernah menjadi pun plan. T___T

Miss X ni sebelum kelas Maths start, dia akan bagi buku 'Congak' lepas tu dalam 15 minit ke macam tu dia suruh kita orang buat latihan congak tu. Ada dalam 50 soalan kot. Lupa. Kita kena mencongak-mengira dalam kepala. Siapa yang habis awal kena angkat tangan lepas tu berlagak tengok kawan-kawan lain yang belum siap mengerut-ngerutkan kepala. Bila time's up, cikgu suruh kawan semakkan jawapan. Lepas tu cikgu tanya siapa dapat full marks, siapa dapat teruk. Siapa dapat teruk tu memang kena dengan cikgu!

Pernah sekali tu dapat teruk. Memang kena dengan dia. Memang SCARY LA!!! Pernah sekali tu betul semua. Dia buat muka biasa je. Haha. Tengok, dugaan semasa belajar telah wujud sejak sekolah rendah lagi.

Setiap hari Jumaat pulak Miss X ajar sempoa. Jadi setiap orang wajib bawak sempoa pergi sekolah.

Okay, tu je cikgu yang saya ingat.

RUMAH BARU

Yang tak bestnya waktu darjah 2 kena pindah rumah sebab abah saya bertukar ke Sungai Petani. Disebabkan kena tukar waktu dalam nak dekat tengah tahun, mak saya pun malas nak pindah sekali. Maka kita orang duduk la dekat rumah teres 2 tingkat yang mak dan abah beli. Waktu weekends je Abah balik rumah. Sampai sekarang pun. Hahaha.

Satu hari tu ayah saya hantar saya pergi sekolah agama tu. Dia park kereta tepi parit yang besar. Saya sampai lambat sikit.

Ustazah baik siap tolong cucikan beg lagi. Oh, rindu betul.

Tapi memang waktu darjah 2 best waktu pergi sekolah agama. Kalau tak pergi sekolah biasa pun takpe.

Sebab mak saya bekerja dan ayah saya bekerja, lepas habis sekolah agama saya dan Syafiq naik van sekolah. Pak cik tu hantar pergi rumah. Tapi pakcik ni ada banyak sangat pelanggan jadi lambat gila baru sampai rumah. Nak dekat pukul 12 dah! Jadi memang terkocoh-kocoh nak siap-siap pergi sekolah. Ada seorang atuk tu hantarkan.

Kat sekolah bosan. Seriously. Darjah 2 la waktu paling bosan dalam sejarah persekolahan saya.
Dahlah abah kerja kat Kedah, saya sekeluarga di Johor. Cikgu kat sekolah garang dan tak best. Kawan-kawan pun tak best. Semua tak bestlah!

Lepas tu balik rumah. Mak yang ambik. Malam pulak Mak ajar tuisyen. Saya pun siapkan kerja sekolah. Tak banyak aktiviti best pun zaman darjah 2 dulu.Tapi saya sangat respect Mak saya. Beliau merupakan wanita yang independent! Oh ya, tapi waktu tu kita orang ada Indonesian maid. Tapi saya tak suka dia! Hmmph!

NURSE GEDIK

Biasalah kan, mesti ada dental check-up kat sekolah. Nama saya tersenarai dalam 'budak-budak bertuah kena cabut gigi'. kad warna hijau tu. Maka saya pun tunggu giliran nak cabut gigi. Ingat lagi waktu tu dental utensils mcm syringe semua tu diorang sterilized je dalam box panas tu.

Saya pun baring atas dental chair tu. Doktor tu cabut gigi. Berdarah (oh well, biasalah kan). Lepas tu ada sorang budak ni takut nampak banyak darah keluar dari mulut saya lepas tu dia tanya nurse kat sebelah dia 'Kenapa dia banyak darah?' lepas tu nurse tu cakap 'Sebab dia tak gosok gigi'. Whaddaheck la nurse! Tak belajar blood circulation gamaknya.

GETTING IGNORED

Lepas tu biasalah kan, lepas cabut gigi doktor suruh gigit kapas. Saya pun kembali ke kelas dengan muka tak boleh blah (macam, oh, I'm a hero!). Mula-mula memang darah stop mengalir. Tengok-tengok berapa belas minit macam tu ada darah balik. Kawan-kawan saya bagitau Puan Saerah 'Cikgu, gigi Sarah berdarah!' lepas tu Puan Saerah buat tak tau je. =__=. Saya pun lagi lah buat tak tahu. Entah, zaman kecik dulu macam tak kisah dengan pandangan orang. Hidup simple je.

WATCHING CINEMA

Waktu darjah 2 la first time tengok wayang. Waktu tu abah saya ajak saya dengan Syafiq tengok Jurassic Park 2. :D Lepas tu waktu nak dekat akhir tahun 1998, saya ikut Syafiq pergi class trip kindergarten dia tengok cerita Mulan. :D

8TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Salah satu benda best jadi budak umur 8 tahun ni bila mak saya buat Birthday party. Dia panggil jiran-jiran, kawan-kawan, students dia semua datang. Dia beli satu kek ni besar! Saya sambut birthday sekali dengan Syafiq sebab kita orang lahir bulan sama. Lepas tu dia masak. Bibik Nor pun tolong. Mak organized games semua. Mak, I love you! *tears*

Part paling best bila banyak gila hadiah saya dan Syafiq dapat. Ada satu teddy bear tu sampai sekarang masih ada lagi (kat rak buku saya sekarang :') ). Yang lain ada dalam bilik stor kot. LOL.

Okay, maka, satu tahun cepat berlalu. Nak dekat-dekat habis sekolah tu, mak saya datang sekolah. Dia pergi pejabat, jumpa cikgu. Dia cakap yang saya akan berpindah ke Kedah. Saya pun salam cikgu. Saya pun cakap 'Bye-bye' kat semua orang. Sebab result saya maintain jadi cikgu dah bagitau dah yang bila saya darjah 3, saya duduk kelas 3 Dahlia jugak.

Waktu tu rasa, hmm. Entahlah. Sedih jugak kot. Sebab kena tinggalkan sekolah tu, pindah pergi sekolah baru.

Barang-barang semua dah masuk lori. Bye-bye Muar!  Maka saya dan keluarga memulakan hidup baru di Sungai Petani. Now Sungai Petani is my real home, forever and always. :)

Maafkan saya sebab kutuk cikgu semua ya. Terima kasih sebab mengajar saya cikgu. =) Saya dah lupa nama cikgu-cikgu tapi mungkin insya-Allah kalau kita jumpa lagi, saya boleh ingat muka. :D

Dan banyak lagi sebenarnya tapi malas nak taip dan malas nak share. Kalau nak tau lebih lanjut tunggulah saya jadi orang terkenal lepas tu saya akan tulis memoir yang 100% apa yg saya ingat tentang childhood days saya (bajet betul).

Okay, bye-bye and thanks for reading! Nanti kita sambung Zaman Darjah 3 pulak, di sebuah negeri yang bernama Kedah (pelik je ayat ni).

And sorry tak ada gambar. Nanti saya edit balik bila free. LOL.
