Portable Microphone.

Assalamualaikum and hello all.

Kita mulakan dengan cerita lawak waktu 1st year.

Kes 1
Lecturer masuk kelas, pakai portable microphone lepas tu mengajar.

Kes 2
Lecturer masuk kelas, pakai portable microphone lepas tu mengajar. Tiba-tiba, telefon bimbit berbunyi.

Okay, habis. Okay, tak lawak.

Minggu ni busy kelas dari pukul 8 sampai 5 petang. Hari Jumaat nanti sampai 7 malam. Lab practical 3 hari berturut-turut. Kena tulis 2 artikel yang tak start lagi pun untuk 'The Torch' (deadline rabu depan) kena buat satu lab practical (deadline rabu depan), kena pergi bagi counselling session untuk Pharmacy Practice, kena pergi OSC untuk amik nama chief facilitator+list nama budak-budak study circle. Kena organize study circle. Kena study untuk quiz Anti-infective minggu depan.

Tapi masih ada masa untuk tulis blog, LOL.

Monologue

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

Belum habis sambung. Pernah terasa sedih, malu, sangat rendah diri bila bandingkan diri kita dengan orang lain. Bila bandingkan ilmu agama kita tak setara pun dengan mereka, sangat sikit, benda yang sepatutnya basic pun tak master lagi.

Post macam ni dah pernah keluar sebelum ni. Tapi delete sebab malu, LOL.

Lepas tu, tiba-tiba, kita terasa macam nak berubah ke arah kebaikan. Datang study circle pun mula-mula rasa terpaksa kemudian rasa ikhlas nak pergi sebab membaiki diri.

Lepas tu kita macam dah give up. Kita teruskan hidup lama yang banyak membuang masa.

Tengah-tengah lagha (perkara yg buat kita lupakan Allah) tu, tiba-tiba datang lagi keinsafan. Tapi macam tak tahu dari mana nak bermula. Kita cuba berubah. Tapi sekejap aje. Back to square one.
Tapi niat dalam hati untuk berubah ke arah kebaikan tak pernah padam. Asyik berdoa. Cuma tak tahu bila nak mula. Harap-harap tak terlambat. Hlovate cakap 'The person who decided to change on the 12th hour dies on the 11th'.
Tak nak jadi macam tu.

Minggu kedua, orang OSC telefon. Cakap yang naqibah (facilitator) study circle sebelum ni bagi nama kat Chief Facilitator lepas tu bagi nama kat OSC untuk jadi naqibah.
Diri kita yang sangat serba kekurangan ni nak jadi naqibah. Macam kelakar pulak. Macam mana nak ubah orang lain kalau diri sendiri pun susah nak berubah? Macam mana nak suruh orang tu buat benda-benda baik tu kalau kita sendiri pun tak buat sangat?

Mula-mula rasa macam nak tolak.

Lepas tu Ustaz Hasmi cakap
'Tak perlu tunggu ilmu cukup baru nak berdakwah. Dakwah ni wajib sebenarnya untuk semua orang Islam. Ilmu memang tak pernah cukup. Jangan rasa rendah diri sebab rasa ilmu tak cukup. Jadikan perasaan 'kekurangan ilmu' itu sebagai satu cabaran,"

Terasa tersentak.

Balik bilik, jumpa roommate yang lagi tinggi ilmu agamanya daripada saya. Mintak dia tolong guide sekali.
The Hunger Games:Mockingjay tinggalkan dulu. Capai 'Apa Ertinya Saya Menganut Islam' karya Fathi Yakan.

Dear Allah, please guide me towards loving you and pleasing you.

Hidup di Perantauan (lah sangat!)

Written on the 13th of September 2011

“ Tau tak awak, perasaan homesick tu sangat menyakitkan?” Malizah, a friend of mine who’s currently studying in India told me when I said that she is very lucky to get the opportunity to study in oversea. The same goes with the other lucky lots who are now studying in countries like Australia, New Zealand, etc.

As for me, I’m only in Malaysia and yet I’m having this heavy emotional feeling of missing my parents, my siblings, home, Sungai Petani and the old 5 months daily routines that I had back then at home.

I really miss all that! I hate the fact that Kuantan is so bloody far away from Sungai Petani (almost takes a whole day journey to and fro).  If only the IIUM merge the health campus together with the art campus in Gombak, then life will be heavenly and delightful. L

Then I could be together with my brother, Syafiq who’s now in IIUM Gombak. My father works in Selangor and goes home every weekend to Kedah, often taking Syafiq with him. All the people that I love are in Kedah. As or me,  I’m stuck here at the end of Malaysia with bad wifi, no transport, broken washing machine, non functioning water filter and a mahallah that is situated at the end of UIA thus it is susceptible to having intruders lurking in. *sigh*. (my friend saw a bangladeshi man jumping down from the 2nd floor to ground floor of our mahallah at 5 something a.m) And that it is situated extremely far from the cafĂ© and kulliyah.(LOL, over je).

This is the worst homesick ever. The first one would be when I first stepped my foot to CFS PJ. It was my first time leaving home. But at least I have my grandaunt there. I could always call her and stay with her at weekends or short holidays. It gives me a sense of comfort to be with someone I’ve known for a long time.
Here. Okay, I have relatives here as well but I don’t really know them that well but whenever I wanted to go home, they could send me to the bus station. Still, I could not trouble them with minor matters only your parents could help you.

I MISS MY FAMILY! MY MOTHER AND HAZIQ, ESPECIALLY!

This is the 2nd worst or probably the worst homesick I ever have because it’s now Day 2 and yet I’ve been silently crying in my compartment every late afternoon. I guess it’s because I’m sick. I’ve been sick since Thursday last week. High Fever+flu+vomiting. Right now my thermoregulator is not functioning well and I keep on coughing. I’m having emotional instability. It’s like PMS.  Sometimes I have the mood and spirit to study sometimes I just could not care less.

I could not call my mother because I’m afraid I’ll cry.
I’m positive my fever has everything to do with this.
To think again, those who study overseas, I salute you all.
Those poor unfortunate souls in Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and those who have been stripped off their normal lives, my sympathy goes towards you.
Those who lost their parents and family members, I don’t know how you could cope with this matter. I couldn’t even stand being apart with my mother for TWO DAYS!
Of course, I have Allah. He will take care of me here. He will take care of my family. Amin.

My stomach is rumbling out of hunger (oh, will you be quiet tak payah nak manja-manja sangat as I've fed you during lunch, dinner and now breakfast okay!) and my head is spinning a bit (still recovering from the fever).

Forgive my stomach as it is currently experiencing 'culture shock' due to the lack of food here in Kuantan. Lambat sikit pegi cafe, makanan habis, hmpphh! Mahal pulak tu! Duduk rumah tak pernah kekurangan makanan, dahlah boleh tambah ikut sesuka hati. Free pulak tu! Lepas tu hujung minggu mesti cakap je 'Abah, nak makan tose masala!' mesti Abah akan tunaikan punya! *sobs*.

It's no use to lament the things that happened in the past. Let's just move on. Another SEVEN weeks to be spent here before hari raya! *faint*

Nostalgia Raya Part 1

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

Selamat hari raya maaf zahir batin.

Waktu sekolah rendah dulu (waktu umur saya lebih kurang 9 atau 10) ada satu family ni datang rumah. Anak-anak diorang sangat 'kurang diajar'. Orang kata, 'buas', Datang rumah orang, berkeliaran sini sana, kacau barang orang semua. Lepas tu main skuter orang sampai nak dekat rosak (baru teringat nak simpan dalam stor =___=). Macam tu lah.

Yang geram gila, parents diorang buat tak kisah je. My parents pun takkanlah nak marah anak orang.
Lama kelamaan, budak-budak itu beserta ibu bapa mereka pun blah. Thank God!

Kita orang adik beradik memang bengang lah.

Minggu depan pulak, parents bawak pergi beraya. Rumah siapa ni, tak pernah datang pun.
Rupa-rupanya, rumah budak-budak 'buas' tu!

Secara diam-diamnya, kami adik beradik merancang strategi balas dendam. Saya la mastermindnya

Masuk rumah, makan bihun sup beberapa kali secara gelojoh.
Keluar rumah, main basikal budak-budak tu.
Dah habis main basikal, masuk makan bihun lagi dengan selambanya macam buat rumah sendiri.
Main basikal lagi.
Lepas tu makan kuih banyak-banyak. Minum air banyak.
Main lagi dengan harta persendirian orang tu.

Waktu tu tak perasan muka parents yang berubah. Diri sendiri rasa gembira dan puas sebab dapat balas dendam. Muahahaha.

Waktu nak balik tu, parents masih bermanis muka.
Masuk kereta

"APASAL TADI TAK SENONOH SANGAT PERANGAI??" (lebih kurang macam ni lah) Abah saya menjerkah.

Lepas tu Emak pulak cakap " Kalau pergi rumah orang jangan makan kuih sampai kosong balang tu. Makan sikit-sikit cukup! (nanti orang ingat kebuluran ke apa budak ni)"

Abah sambung lagi " Kalau anak orang buat macam tu kat rumah kita, jangan kita jadi macam diorang pulak. Nanti mak bapak diorang ingat sama je anak orang ni, perangai tak reti duduk diam jugak,"

Okay, tu antara apa yang saya ingat. Terus rasa tak best lepas balas dendam.

Kadang-kadang terfikir jugak, mungkin budak-budak yang 'buas' tu pun kena marah dengan mak bapak diorang waktu masuk dalam kereta. Mungkin mak bapak diorang tu pun macam mak bapak saya, tak nak marah anak diorang depan orang sebab tak nak malukan kita.

Hey, I was only 9 or 10. Biasalah tu, budak-budak. :P

How I screwed up a national event

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

So, throughout my one year study in IIUM, I've been emcee-ing and quiz moderating some events.

Quiz Moderator for IIUM National Pharmacy Quiz.

I could say that this is hellish. The peak of doom. The worst of the worst. Here is how it goes.

So, I have passed the audition and become the quiz moderator together with Kak Nisah, Usher and Yusri. I got paired with Usher (we take turns to moderate the quiz and become the time keeper) and Kak Nisah with Yusri.

Everything went well during the practice sessions. And we have made our decisions. Usher's going to moderate two sessions of quarter finals and I'm going to moderate one session of semi finals. Is it fair? Yes it is as I've been bestowed with an important and arduous task of moderating the FINAL session of the NATIONAL Pharmacy Quiz, at the auditorium, in front of lots of people which included lecturers and students from FOURTEEN Pharmacy schools all over Malaysia!

Well, I'm not really scared talking in public so I accepted the task merrily.

Then there was divine intervention.

In the morning of the quiz, I suddenly contracted high fever. I was feeling extremely cold. The lecture hall was effin cold because the air conditioner controller was not functioning. You either switch it on or off. No regulation of temperature.

So for the Semi finals session I really had to force myself to smile as you see, 'HIGH FEVER!' My body was aching all over and I couldn't stood still. I felt like I was about to faint. Luckily not.
No, there are no other substitutes as Usher got to be the Time Keeper and I insisted on moderating the semi final quiz because I need a bit of practice before proceeding to the final session.

Besides, I was the only one who practiced a bit with the final session text ,which was only given to me the night before the event, full of scrawls of notes from the previous quiz moderator! It was an old text and  The format was changed and everything this year so it's not really my fault, is it?

So, I went ahead to moderate the final session and I could tell you, that it was a disaster, performed 'spectacularly' in front of my lecturers and hundreds of students in the auditorium.

Some of my lecturers were pitiful of me. Prof Noriah even said that it was not my fault because there were like, EIGHT participants on stage and the orders of answering the questions was a bit complex (for me as I got demam panas) so I mixed up the orders a couple of times *facepalm*.

The orders are like this : There are 2 teams, 8 participants. The old format: 2 teams, 6 participants. I was using the old text so you get what I mean.

First session:
Participant A Team 1(could answer)
Participant A Team 2 (could answer)
Participant B Team 1 (")
Participant B Team 2 (")

Participant C Team 1(")
Participant C Team 2 (")
Participant D Team 1(")
Participant D Team 2 (")

Second session
Participant A Team 2
A Team 1
B Team 2
B Team 1

C Team 2
C Team 1
D Team 2
D Team 1

Third session
Team 1 again
Team 2

Fourth session
Team 2
Team 1

See, complicated right? And no, they are not as genius as Einstein so they could not answer some questions and that further complicated matters.

1st Session
Participant A Team 1(Tak dapat jawab)
All Team 1 (tak dapat jawab)
Team 2 (tak dapat jawab)

Then YOU, the quiz moderator had to ask the judge 'What the heck is the answer then?'

Then back to Participant B Team 1 balik!!!

Judges would sometimes give obscure marks. For example,
Judge: Bla bla bla? (question)
Student: Bla bla bla (answer)
Judge: It's not really correct

Me: So, is it partially correct or what? (oklah, ni informal)
Judge: It's partially correct
Me: (Pftttt) Okay, 5 marks to Team 1

All these had to be done by a single person on stage aka me! I was all alone on the stage, humiliated! The audience laughed when I said 'Sorry!'

The Programme Manager even glared at me during the quiz.
When it was over, I had to wait for the participants to return to their seats.
And I was about to make a closing remarks + apologies. Guess what happened?

' I profoundly apologize for' I talked to the microphone. Eh, why the heck did they SWITCH IT OFF???
And so, I yelled to the stupid microphone which did not amplify my voice.

'I PROFOUNDLY APOLOGISE FOR THE bla bla bla' it was a comical effect, really.

Then my dear lecturer passed me his microphone with a sympathetic look on his face.

Alas,

It seems like the other committees were ignoring me after the quiz.  It was pathetic. I was so embarrassed.I screwed up a national event!

Back home, I snuggled into my bed and cried. I cried when my mother called me. My fever got worse. I switched off the fan and lied on my bed in darkness, with the comforter covering my whole body. I couldn't really sleep, thinking of the massive blunders that I've committed.

I didn't go to class the next day (because I was really sick. I would never skipped class just to avoid humiliation and stuffs). I went to clinic and the doctor diagnosed me with high fever by just looking at my face. I couldn't even eat because I would end up vomiting. There was the taste of bile on my tongue so I felt the desire to vomit every time. It was really horrible.

Syau came to my room at the afternoon to give me the week's timetable.

Prof Noriah then asked 'Eh, mana Sarah?'
'Sarah tak datang'
'Oh, sebab semalam eh?' (LOL)

Away she went, saying ' Memang agak memalukan UIA but we can't blame Sarah!'

And off she criticized the organizing committees, the emcees' texts everything. She said that I ought to have a partner by my side and such. And yes, I only got the final text on the night BEFORE the quiz. And that's an old text with old format. Pffttt.

The next day I came to class, she spotted me and asked 'Sarah dah okay?' LOL.

Okay so, here I am, survived to tell the tale of how I screwed up a national event. It is an extremely bitter memory, as it in a way, lowers down people's expectations towards you. They did not know (still do not know) that I was really sick at that time. They have no idea how was it like, to be on that stage, to be in my shoes.

But of course, I believe that everything has its reasons. Allah has planned everything. I put my strongest faith towards Allah throughout that unfortunate duration. I cried out of embarrassment and pain and yet I believe that everything will be okay one day.

I also realize that you should not care too much about other people's opinions towards you and that only Allah's opinions matter. Allah knows what happened to you. It's hard to meet up to people's expectations because they only look at the results, not the efforts. But it's easy to please Allah because no matter how unpleasant the result is, he knows that you've done your best. He knows.

And again, to those who did not know. I did not skip class because I was embarrassed and later on got sick AFTER the quiz. I got sick BEFORE the quiz and my fever got even worse AFTER the quiz. Thank you very much.

Your result for The Sorting Hat: A Comprehensive Harry Potter Personality Assessment [Test/Quiz]...

Gryffindor

52% Ravenclaw,  51% Hufflepuff,  45% Slytherin and  53% Gryffindor!
You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave at heart,

Their daring, nerve, and chivalry

Set Gryffindors apart;

Gryffindor's cardinal traits are bravery, pride, stubbornness and impulsiveness. Most people in the house of Gryffindor will be extraverted. (Remember, introversion is different than being shy: you can be a shy extrovert.) Gryffindors gain energy and life by being around people, grain strength from friends and enjoy working with those close to them. However, they are also emotionally volatile and can experience a wide range of feelings in a short amount of time, from unbridled happiness to deep depression to unrestrained rage. They are less emotionally stable than some of the other houses (such as Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff); Gryffindors are also impulsive. They're also generally good-hearted and trusting, and for the most part like people at first sight unless they are given a reason not to. Gryffindors are Prideful, bad at taking criticism and easilyget into conflicts with others—this is the main trait that would bring their overall level of agreeableness from high to average.

A Gryffindor's prideful nature coupled with their sense of justice and stubborn behavior causes them to be extremely set in their ways. They have a difficult time backing down from a fight or admitting that they are wrong. It's also very hard for them to get over a bad first impression or change their opinion on someone.

Testing My Memories

Remember those old days in the 90's, where there weren't that many book publishing company in Malaysia, the ones that mostly existed published translated books.

For example, Enid Blyton's books in Malay
1. Malory Towers -->Seri Melur
2. St. Clare's -->Tengku Ashikin
3. Famous Five --> Lima Sekawan
4. Secret Seven -->Tujuh Penyiasat
5. Five Find Outers --> Lima Penyiasat

Not forgetting,
1. Nancy Drew --> Siri Salma
2. Hardy Boys --> Siri Hadi

And lots more. Now, it's really really very hard to find these books in bookstores because they are really really rare.

Know what, I miss them! I really do! I spent my childhood reading these books. I spent my duit raya buying a whole set of 'Lima Penyiasat' or something. I reread them over and over again.
I usually borrowed Siri Salma from the public library. I reckon I've read almost all books in the Siri Salma.

I was delighted to find those original English series of Siri Salma, Seri Melur and so on because truthfully, I read the Malay versions first. Malay versions are much cheaper, you know.

But there is one particular series that I really really adore. It's called Siri Kumpulan Penjejak. A total of 10 books in the series. I love this particular series because the adventures are... how do you call it? Okayla, lain daripada yang lain!

1. Berjaya Lagi. I forgot what happened. Teehee. But it's the first book that tells about their first adventure.
2. Desa Yang Mengajar. They went to their cousin's house. A farm, something like that.
3. Misteri Alur Guntur. They went to another cousin's house.
4. Misteri Bakawali. Went to a friend's house. Found a secret room.
5. Misteri Ekspedisi. Went on an expedition on bicycles, together with their friends, cousins and family members. AWESOME!
6. Misteri Hantu Pulau. Went to Tanjong Pagar with friends to stay at the family doctor's huge house. Adventures! Went to he Pulau Hantu. Or Pulau yang berhantu, something like that.
7. Misteri Sungai Senang. Stayed at their grandaunt's huge house in Muar. SO COOL!
8. Perkelahan Aneh. Went to cousin's house. Participated in the festival there.
9. Rahsia Gajah Diraja. An elephant kena kidnap something like that.
19. Rahsia Rumah Rakit. Embarked on an adventure naik rumah rakit with their family and cousins.

Of course, they are amateur sleuths, always bound to solve whatever kind of mysteries in every place they've been to.

I bet this Kumpulan Penjejak is the Malay version of whatever English series.

The reason I really like this series is because it shows 4 siblings and their close knitted relationships with their parents, cousins, relatives and friends. And the fact that they are always together in every adventure!

It's impossible to find a rare not so popular Malay book now. So sad, you know!

I miss another series. Sarah Latif Mystery Series by Matilda Xavier. No image is available from the internet. Hmmphh!

Thank you, dear books for helping me to imagine and getting A for my Penulisan Bahasa Melayu subjek for almost every exams and yeah, UPSR.

I stopped reading these books when I entered secondary school, I guess.

I just want to say that I mostly read MALAY books in my early years. English books are mostly those of Enid Blyton's and Maltilda Xavier. And yeah, Sweet Valley. Those books created a very happy and pleasant childhood years for me. Imaginative, even. And I'm very proud to say that I am much much better in Bahasa Melayu than English. Of course, I'm a MALAY! I can become more poetic and strings sentences that rhymes together in Malay, rather than English. English is quite complicated as I forever have to take note of the correct usage of grammars and sentence structure.

Almost kidnapped

My mom told me that when I was 3 (1993), I was almost kidnapped by a man. Well, a strange man. A stranger.

My parents brought me to the pasar malam and suddenly while in the midst of buying stuffs or something ( I dunno), my mom realized that I wasn't with her. They looked frantically all over the pasar malam for me. My mom was extremely worried.

Luckily, my dad spotted me walking with a man.  He was holding my hand and seemed oblivious to the surrounding. He wasn't even looking anywhere else. Only straight ahead. You know, to at least try to locate the little girl's parents.

I wonder what might have happened to me if my father didn't find me. *shudder*

Here are the probabilities:

1.  He (stranger) might sell me to some sort of gangster group where I'll be forced to beg for money and food on the streets. They might even chop off my limbs to show that I'm not an able person, to gain sympathy from people.

2. Get sold to another gangster group where they would kill me and took out my body organs to be sold in black market.

3. They might torture me like they did with Nurin Jazlin and other missing kids. *shudder again*. Stupid pedophiles!

4. Sell me to those filthy rich people who do not have any child and I'll be pampered with lots of toys. :P

5. Maybe when I reached my teenage years, they might sell me to Bapak Ayam whomsoever and work as a prostitute. NOO!!!! I pity those prostitutes. You think they would want to become one? They are forced to, okay!

6. Got adopted by the head gangster and being raised as his own child. This might be due to the fact that his wife had taken a great liking towards me because I was so cute *cough cough* and that his wife once suffered from ovarian cancer and could not conceive any child. The head gangster, though tough and mean, loves his wife so much that he relented on the idea that I'll be his adopted daughter. His future plans include having me to inherit his position as head gangster. MUAHAHAHAHA

I'm so glad my father found me. I'm so grateful that Allah helps me. Alhamdulillah.

P.S Sila tengok Kasih Alia,  Isnin hingga Khamis 7 malam hanya di TV3. LOL. Cerita dia lebih kurang sama. Hilang kat pasar malam, kena culik, kena mintak sedekah, kena ambik organ badan, etc. Okay tapi sekarang diorang dah besar. =___=

EBOOKS

Being a self proclaimed bookaholic, I have downloaded so many e-books from 4shared. :P

The only device available for me to read the e books is my faithful laptop. The thing is, reading stuffs on my laptop had proved to be a bit uncomfortable, as I have to squint my eyes once in a while, sometimes putting my hands above my eyes, as if to shield the bright sunlight that shines from above. In this case, the bright backlight of my laptop screen.

I wanted to buy an ebook reader but it is quite expensive!  No way. And it's not a necessity anyway, LOL.

So, I racked my brain for a solution. How could I read e-books on my laptop without being constantly blinded by the oh-so-bright light?

And, tada!

Ceh, it's very simple, really!

                                                               (image googled)

So I took the sunglasses and wore it over my half-blind eyes (I'm wearing glasses, so I placed the sunglasses OVER my glasses. Picture it! The weirdness!)

Yeah! I could read the e-books more comfortably now! xD

Almost lost a brother

I almost lost my brother, Syafiq when I was 6 and he, 4.

We were at home and Syafiq suddenly contracted high fever. A really really high fever. He could not breathe properly and his body is all blue-ish because the oxygen could not reach to his body parts (because he could not breathe properly la!)

My father quickly brought him to the hospital next door (luckily our house was located beside the hospital) and he stopped breathing. My father got really sad. I bet he cried at that time.

This is what he said "Ingatkan Syafiq dah takde dah waktu tu,"

And suddenly, miracles happened! Syafiq breathed again!

He got admitted to the hospital and stayed there for quite a long time. I still remember him in his hospital clothes which looked like a pyjamas, with some sort of tube inserted to his hand.

He was only four!

I remember being all sad having to leave him at the hospital. My parents took turn taking care of him every night. I had my Opah at home to take care of me and my siblings.

In a way, the miracle that Allah had shown us, make us believe that He is giving Syafiq another chance. Maybe he would change the world someday. Who knows? There's a reason on why that miracle happened.

He grew up, becoming quite lembik throughout his childhood, maybe it's the post effect of the high fever. He got bullied at school because he was small. He got bullied by me at home because I'm his big bossy sister. He cried a lot. I always spanked him. We quarreled a lot.

Then when he was 13, his life started to get better. He no longer got bullied by me (because I got transformed into a kind, nice sister :P), he stood up for himself, fought when somebody tried to bully him at school. He gained many friends, he had his own circle of admirers from the girls, he was one of the popular boys at school, he got good grades and now is in his first year at IIUM pursuing Bachelor of Architecture.

Syafiq is one lucky boy. He's the closest one to me out of my other 3 younger siblings. To think that I almost lost a brother. I'm glad that he is still here.

He's turning 19 today. Happy birthday, dear brother!

When you have gigi besi...

" Hewhoo, I'm sheeking sponshorship from your company for the upcoming nashional pharmashy quish that will be held at my univershity. May I know whom should I be djealing with?"

You can't speak properly for the short time being.

P.S UniverSHITy? LOL.

Not-So-Wordless Thursday

My brother, Haziq in front of my dad's childhood home in Bukit Gantang, Perak,  built in the 1940's.
As you can see, it is now old and dilapidated.

"Couple seats ke seat biasa?"

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

I've watched HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2!!! (baca sekali nafas)

Eeeww Voldemort and Nagini. >.<

It was okay. I tried to cry but I couldn't because you see...I NEEDED TO GO TO THE TOILET!
I couldn't hold my bladder anymore thus I went out and missed the part where Voldemort killed Harry and Harry met Dumbledore and there was that bloody foetus of Voldemort.

Upon returning from the toilet, then only could I concentrate on the remaining scenes of the movie.
The scene where Snape got killed by Nagini was quite quite gruesome.

And then...NINETEEN YEARS LATER

The scene of King's Cross Station. Then the melancholy music they played on the first movie was played in this scene!
Then I saw Harry and his kids. AND I CRIEDD!!!

Because you know, you got immediately flashed back to the first movie, where Harry was all alone going to Hogwarts. Harry's kids are so lucky to have their parents alive.
But I laughed a bit when I saw 36 years old Malfoy. He looks ridiculous!

Okay, the end. Harry Potter is over.

One funny thing that happened when we first bought the tickets.

I went to the counter and the woman saw my brother, Syafiq.
I asked her "Harry Potter 1.00 p.m?"
She asked back "Nak couple seats ke seat biasa?"

"APA?"

She repeated her question.

And I laughed to the extent of maybe accidentally revealing the empty sockets of my first premolars. HAHA

"Bukan! Dia adik saya lah! Seat biasa,"

Maybe she didn't mean it that way. Maybe she thought I'd want to have the couple seats, seeing that there were only two of us there.

Adoiii. No. This is not the first time people had mistaken my younger brother as my boyfriend.

A bloody(literally) experience!

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

I can't write much as I don't really have the mood.

1. I have just undergone a minor (and unexpected) surgery!

2. It's nothing big. considering that the dentist had to slice your gum to pull out the root of your tooth. Oh, not just one place. TWO PLACES! Right and left. Then the dentist had to stitch your gums back together. Eekkk

3. I'm bleeding profusely which is bothersome.

4. I keep on drooling as I can't control the secretion of my saliva which is really TROUBLESOME!

5. My mouth and some parts of my cheeks are still numb and I feel like an idiot(see number 4) and when I touched my lips, it feels rubbery which is way WEIRD!

6. The pain started to kick in for about 15 minutes after the surgery was over.

7. I received like, SEVEN anaesthetic injections throughout the whole procedure.

8. My two upper first premolars are gone. Goodbye, perfect set of teeth! *sob*

9. I'm thirsty! But I don't want to swallow the blood when I'm drinking the water! Arghh!

10. This is my first ever surgery (that requires slicing and stitching) and I feel cool about it. LOL.

The Periodic Table of Storytelling

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

Sorry can't make it any bigger. Well, you can just click on it.
This is an awesome invention invented by those inventors (LOL).

There are several examples shown below the periodic table. Star Wars, Kim Possible, Dilbert, etc.

How to use it:

Pick several elements from the Periodic table and string them together!

This is how I interpret Kim Possible.

The basic plot of Kim Possible using the Periodic Table

Ag is bonded to Kz
Ag stands for Action Girl which is Kim. and Kz stands for Klutz which is Ron.
They are doubly bonded. Chemically speaking (LOL), double bond is stronger than single bond because double bond consists of pi bond and sigma bond. Sigma bond is stronger  than Pi bond(Kim) and Pi  bond is weaker than Sigma bond (Ron) but Sigma adds strength to Pi bond (it means sometimes Kim really needs Ron by her side. Well, you know la).

Ag and Kz are bonded together to Fg, which stands for 'Fighting Crime'.

In conclusion: Action Girl (Kim Possible) and The Klutz (Ron Stoppable) fight crime together. I wonder where's Rufus the Naked Mole Rat? >___>

This periodic table is not comprehensive but in a way, it gives you idea on how to start a story. And don't bother about all those chemical structures and bonds.  Make your OWN chemical structures.

The End. May you have a pleasant day. :)

Cheapo

Assalamualaikum and hello all. :)

The recent trip (well, about 2 weeks ago) to Chowrasta and look what I've bought. (Chowrasta is awesome as usual).

ELEVEN Sweet Valley Books for a total price of RM28!

Yes, only RM28!
I usually buy a brand new novel from MPH Bookstores for the price of RM33++

But this, ELEVEN books? But still, the total price is considered expensive as those are 2nd hand books and some of them are not in mint conditions (whaddaya expect? LOL) Next time gonna bargain more! Say, RM20! The skill of bargaining is highly essential, even in buying books! Muahahaha.

At first the bookseller put a price of RM25 for 8 books (mahal giler kan?)
Then I flirted with him a bit and got them for RM20 (still expensive, right??)

Next time must flirt more! LOL. And I've made my own 'negotiating-for-the-least-possible-price-of-books' points. Things that should be considered
-Condition of books
-Year of publication
-and others (think up the points yourself! :P)

Then off you go to present your points on why you should get 10 books for RM 10 instead of RM20 (never tried that, but going to ) to the bookseller. You should present your points in a persuasive yet non aggressive manner. It's a bonus if you know how to act. And if you're a naturally annoying and irritating person, you could always try to annoy the bookseller to the core by continuously pestering him until he finally relents on selling the books for your named price.

I finished reading all eleven books in 10 days. Well, not exactly a book a day. It depends on my mood. I once read 3 Sweet Valley books in just one day. I was bored.

For now, the total number of books (most of them fictions) that I've read from April 2011 till now (as of yesterday) is 24, if I'm not mistaken (the number includes the 11 Sweet Valley books).

Now I'm halfway reading Betsy Carter's 'Orange Blossom Special'. Gonna finish it today. I intend to finish another 4 books before August, which is before Ramadhan so that I could make a new list of books to be read during Ramadhan.

Why fictions? You see, sometimes you could learn a greater deal about life by reading fictions (because they tell you stories that relate to you) as compared to reading non-fictions. But then again, I have my dose of non-fictions too. I don't always read fictions. And no, I do not read stupid political blogs.

And yes, why Sweet Valley? I first read Sweet Valley when I was 10 and it is quite delightful to reread stuffs that you read when you were young. ( I still read Doraemon comics xD) Besides, Sweet Valley books are no longer published and are now unavailable in major bookstores like MPH. So, they are rare and precious in a way.

Have a pleasant day, everyone!

Turn Left, Turn Right

I first watched this in 2006. I was sixteen. It was aired on TV3 for the Valentine’s Day Special Slot.

I got hooked to the story, my eyes glued to the TV screen.

I watched it again.

And watched it again.

My brother downloaded the movie and I watched it again. And again and again.

I’ve watched this movie for a total of FIVE to SIX times. I’ve lost count so I could not remember the exact number.

Though Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung only spent about less than 10 minutes in this movie, I could perceive their feelings (‘their’ as in the main characters, not the actors) for each other, the agony, and the emotional pain when they are separated from each other.

I have always been a romantic person in the inside. I believe in fairy tales and cheesy love stories, no matter how people said they do not exist. It is ridiculous, I know. :P

Well, we women are like that. HAHA

To end this note, you girls (and guys) should watch this!

Ok bye and assalamualaikum. J

P.S: I've learned how to write shorter blog posts. xD

Queen Sized

Have you ever woken up in the morning,
Looked at yourself in the mirror and found yourself saying

'I'm FAT!!!!!'

Yeah, seriously.

Also, the time when you're wearing your tudung, and you're trying your best to pull the sides of the tudung to the front in a hopeless attempt to conceal the puffiness and the chubbiness of your cheeks and urmm...the chin that seems to urmm...double in size? And ended up muttering

'I'm FAT!!!!'
What's more, when you weighed yourself on the weighing balance and found that your weight has increased DRAMATICALLY for the past few months! And you went on complaining

'I'm FAT!!!!'

 Drama Queen indeed. *rolled eyes*

EDIT: On 2nd thought, chubby cheeks are tolerable as they signify youthfulness.HAHAHA But double chin? So not cool. =__=

Whoa, I can't believe it! In about 2 months, the whole of IIUM students would be returning to our beloved holy land of UIA. Haha.
What's more, one year has passed, so quickly and we're now going to be in our 2nd year!

2 more years of study to become a legal drug dealer! Muahaha

So far, life in IIUM Kuantan had been fulfilling, I guess.

My studies are going on OK (at least according to me, my parents and JPA, LOL) and I had fun attending the classes, doing lab practicals, sitting for quizzes and exams (NOT!)

Really, what did I actually do throughout this one year in IIUM?

My life started in the morning, where I'll get ready for class. Then class from 8 a.m till 10.00 a.m. Break for half an hour till 10.30 a.m. 10.30 a.m till 12.30 p.m Then break until 2.00 p.m, where afternoon class will usually started.

My batch, which is called Rx9 are the best. Rx stands for recipe/prescription. LOL. Consisting of 100 students, we differ in personalities and that's what make our lives interesting. :P

Our class was in the Auditorium of the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy. Lecturers will stand on the stage, using the portable microphone to deliver their lectures, while some of us are actually listening intently, some of us trying our best not to sleep, haha.

We hate it whenever any lecturer extends his lecture time, stealing a few 10 minutes of our break. And during the 30 minutes break, some students from Rx9 made their own businesses of selling fried chicken nuggets and sausages, breads, sandwiches, drinks, keropok, etc.

And so, using the empty seats at the back/top area of the auditorium, also using the stairs leading to the front of the auditorium, we would be sitting on those spots, gossipping, talking, laughing, using laptops to access the sites on the internet, while happily munching our nuggets and sausages.

Our classroom is at the end of the kulliyyah, thus secluded from the lecture halls of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year which means we rarely socialize with the seniors, LOL. We are in our own world.

Sometimes on Friday afternoon, while waiting for the UNGS class to start at 2.30/3.00 p.m, the sisters would sit in the auditorium (the brothers went to the mosque to perfomr Friday prayer) and switched off the lights of the auditorium, plugging in the pendrive to the desktop and watch the movies on the big screen on the stage. We would sit comfortably on the oh-so-comfy chairs of the auditorium. Just like a real cinema, with the awesome sound system and all.

The lecturers are nice. But they could be sarcastic at times, especially when you arrived late to class and when you didn't do some background readings before the lectures. And yes, some of them like to call out names. The one responsible to hold the name list/attendance sheet a.k.a the class rep (yours truly) would reluctantly go to the front to give the lecturer the name list. Some didn't really mind if we sleep during the lectures. Some got angry if the students carried out some lectures of their owns at the back.

Sometimes I'll take the bus to Kulliyyah. Sometimes I'll just walk. All of us live it when there is no afternoon class. Which means some of us would take afternoon naps (LOL), some studious ones will take the ample time to revise and study.

We bought our food from the cafeteria at Talhah.
